S-s-s-s-schimbari
Apartin unei prime generatii de femei care sunt in principiu
capabile sa actioneze independent de barbati. Pentru
mine este firesc sa am libertatea de a ma dezvolta si
imbogati ca fiinta umana, in afara preocuparii - necesara
in alte culturi - pentru un frate, tata, logodnic sau
sot.
Eu cred ca asa este corect. Se intampla ca printre prietenii
mei sa am cativa "barbati feministi". Ei nu
se denumesc ad-literam asa, insa sunt feministi, de
exemplu ei respecta femeilie si se asteapta ca ele sa
aiba personalitate si sa fie autonome, hotarate si inteligente.
Prietenul meu este unul dintre ei.
In timpul calatoriilor mele observ diferite abordari
catre femeile si fetele autonome. Nu trebuie sa calatoresc
prea departe ca sa observ asta. Uneori o calatorie este
un salt in timp catre o perioada pe care am considerat-o
trecuta. Pentru ca s-s-s-s-schimbarile necesita timp,
inca mai avem nevoie de feminism.
Filmul 'Balls and Girls'/ Testicule si fete prezentat
in expozitia Perspective este rezultatul unui proiect
medical: cercetarea anatomiei clitorisului in stare
de excitatie folosind scanarea cu rezonanta magnetica.
Faptul ca cercetatorii fac aceste scanari atunci cand
femeile isi provoaca orgasm in timpul unei sedinte de
scanare, poate fi un act feminist in sine. Am comparat
povestea calatoriei din interiorul scanarii cu cele
pe care le-am facut in anii trecuti.
Daca "a avea testicule"
este apogeul pe care il poate atinge o persoana curajoasa,
inseamna ca si eu fac parte din aceasta categorie.

Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes
I belong to one of the first generations of women
that are in principle able to operate independently
from men. For me it's normal to have the freedom to
develop and enrich myself as a human being apart from
the -in other cultures necessary- concern of a brother,
father, fiancé or husband.
I think that is right. Among my friends I happen to
have quite some "feminist men". They don't
call themselves this way literally, but they are feminist,
i.e. they respect and expect women to have personality
and to be autonomous, assertive and intelligent. My
boyfriend is one of them.
While traveling I notice different approaches towards
autonomous girls and women. I don't need to travel far
to experience that. Sometimes a journey is a time warp
to a time I have considered past. Since ch-ch-ch-ch-changes
take time, we still need feminism.
The video 'Balls and Girls'
in the Perspective exhibition is the outcome of a certain
medical project: a research of the anatomy of the clitoris
in an aroused state through the use of MRI scans. The
fact that researchers make scans while women generate
an orgasm themselves in an MRI scan, might be feminist
in itself. I compared the story of the trip inside the
scan with the travels I haven been making in the past
years.
If "having balls" is the
summit of being a courageous person, I guess I'm one
of them.
