Lucrarile faimoasei artiste lituaniene Jurate Rekeviciute reprezinta o noua abordare a artei grafice conventionale. Sociale, istete, uneori socante, puternice, picante, rudimentare, sic, aceste lucrari exprima dezvoltarea continua a artei grafice contemporane si necesitatea unei conceptii actuale.

text de Ignas Kazakevicius, critic de arta

The artworks of famous Lithuanian artist Jurate Rekeviciute are a new approach to the conventional graphic art. In terms of traditional printmaking Jurate Rekeviciute - is more likely a representative of sub-culture. She has created her own media where a conventional criterion of artistic perception no longer exists. All works of the artist and, undoubtedly, her own artistic image are marked by eccentricity. The latest works of the author are made in original technique - making relief print of second-hand clothes and skilfully supplementing a "body" illusion with "sharp" lino-cut. The works seem to absorb warmness from the body of the former owner of clothes and spiritual development history of lost people; the works become socially active and provocative. Works made in mixed technique - mocking and playful - ironically reveal the life aspects worth of Z. Freud's insights, attract by their seeming simplicity. At the first glance are easily understandable, however in fact - versatile and poly-semantic. Social, smart, sometimes shocking, powerful, hot, rough, posh, these artworks express further development of contemporary graphic art and necessity of topical conception.
